Termidor SC

Termidor SC

Active Ingredients: Fipronil - 9.1% , Other Ingredients - 90.9%

Features:

Elimination of 100% of termites in efficacy and envionmental test sites. Thru the testing , it has been proven 100% effective against Subterranean termites, including the challenging Formosan Termite.

Kills individual termites two ways : by contact and by ingestion.

The technology of Termidor is an advancement over other termite insecticides that are only repellent barriers. Because Termidor is made up of a nonrepellent is is undetectable by termites. The termites can't see, smell, taste or avoid Termidor. Instead they contact, ingest, and share Termidor with others in the colonies. Repellent termite insecticides can be avoided by termites by their detection, Termidor solves that problem.

When termites contact Termidor they transfer it ("transfer effect") to others in the termite colony. And because Termidor is a slow-acting termiticide, termites have plenty of time to spread it throughout their entire termite colony. And although the Termidor effect on individual termites is intentionally slow, the overall colony management is fast: significantly faster than bait systems.

Termidor can be 2-6 times faster than a bait system Termidor has a unique "transfer effect" manages termite colonies a lot faster than termite bait systems. And unlike a bait system, Termidor gives you 100% protection from Day 1. There's no long waiting period where termites are being attracted to the bait.

This combination of ingestion, contact, and "transfer effect" (which is unique, and puts Termidor in a category by itself) routinely provides 100% termite control. No exceptions

Termidor is long lasting. Government and other tests in the US and abroad have shown that in almost 9 years there has been no break or reduction in Termidor's effectiveness.

Termidor offers the most effective, low-dose control of outdoor ants available, with proven control of a number of nuisance ant species, even with outdoor perimeter applications at the low rate of 0.06% active ingredient. Termidor is labeled for carpenter ants, argentine ants, big-headed ants, odorous house ants, and pavement ants

Ants foraging on Termidor-treated surfaces, ingesting Termidor through normal feeding activity, or that are sprayed directly with the product will die, but not before spreading Termidor through contact throughout the ant population via the product's unique "Transfer EffectT." Termidor is easily picked up by ants, and has a quick speed of kill - 1 to 3 days - but is slow-acting enough to ensure transfer throughout the population.

For Ant and Roach control inside use the related product Phantom.

FAQ'S Termidor® termiticide-insecticide

From BASF Manufacturing

Q: What is Termidor? A: Termidor is a termiticide that delivers 100% control in a single application in 3 months or less.

Q: What makes Termidor different from other termite treatments? A: Termites can't detect it. They forage freely in a treated area. Termidor is lethal to termites that ingest or contact it. Termites carry it back to the colony and infect every other termite they contact.

Q: What types of termites does Termidor control? A: Termidor controls Formosan and subterranean termites, the two most destructive species in the United States, which account for 80% of the $2.5 billion in annual destruction to homes and buildings.

Q: Can Termidor be used in both residential and commercial termite control? A: Yes, a trained pest management professional (PMP) may choose to treat most any type of structure that is at risk for termite damage. These structures may include residential homes, churches, office buildings, and schools.

Q: How fast will Termidor work once applied properly to a home? A: In every test, Termidor has achieved 100% control of termites within three months or less.

Q: How long does Termidor last once applied? A: Time and again, Termidor is proven to have staying power. In numerous tests, Termidor continued to provide 100% control of termites for at least five years.

Q: Does Termidor have/leave an odor? A: No, Termidor is odor-free.

Premise Granules termite

Premise works differently from other termiticide products that are designed to simply repel or keep termites away from the treated soil area without killing them. Premise is a non-repellent termiticide, meaning that termites do not detect that Premise is present. Premise creates an undetectable “Treated Zone®” around the home, where termites unknowingly eat treated cellulose or tunnel into treated soil. The exposed termites then remain unaffected for a few days, before sudden death occurs. In the meantime, the exposed termites are able to spread the Premise chemical to unexposed termites by physical contact when they feed or groom the other termites, resulting in a domino death effect which wipes out more of the colony.

Active Ingredient: Imidacloprid, .5%

Target pests: Subterranean Termites, Drywood Termites, Dampwood Termites, Carpetner Ants, other Wood-Infesting Insects

Phantom Termiticide and Insecticide

Phantom Termiticide and Insecticide

A non repellent termiticide/insecticide (Termites, ants and roaches don't know it is there!) For use in: Indoors and Outdoors

Phantom's "Secondary Kill" Action

This insecticide has the ability to kill pests that have not come in contact with the treated area. This mode of action is called "secondary kill", one insect exposes other insects to the insecticide. Exposure occurs by contact, grooming and food exchange.

This secondary kill action is a primary contributor to both Phantom's incredible performance and its ability to control entire pest populations at low doses.

It is not only a Termiticide that kills termites by ingestion and contact, but also a powerful and effective insecticide for ants and cockroaches. It combines nonrepellency, superior control, long-lasting effects in a low-dose, virtually odorless formulation. It can be used as a soil drench, wall foam or as a general use spray as desired.

FAQ'S

By Basf Manufacturing Q: How does Phantom work? A: Chlorfenapyr, the state-of-the-art active ingredient in Phantom, works differently than other termiticides, which typically attack the insect's nerve cells. Instead, it attacks cells in the insect's body and prevents these cells from generating sufficient energy to sustain life.

Q: How do termites come in contact with Phantom?

A: It is a truly nonrepellent termiticide. That means that termites don't know it's there. Once it has been applied to the soil and a perimeter has been established, foraging termites acquire the termiticide as they pass directly through the treated zone. Secondly, toxic doses of chlorfenapyr are transferred to other members of the colony through such mechanisms as trophallaxis, which involve shared feeding of contaminated secretions and food. As we say, "Some lines should never be crossed," and "fortunately, termites have no idea where this one is."

Q: Do termites die immediately upon contact with Phantom?

A: No. It works through a process called delayed action mortality. Because termites don't die immediately upon contact with Phantom, they have the opportunity to distribute the termiticide to their nestmates. They also die away from the it's perimeter, eliminating the potential for accumulated corpses that would drive other termites away from the treated area

Q: Does Phantom only control termites?

A: No. It is also labeled for control of general household pests inside both residential and commercial structures. Essentially, it will have a deleterious effect upon all insects that have behavioral patterns which allow trafficking through the treated area. In this respect, it has been proven to be highly effective on both cockroaches and ants.

NOT FOR SALE TO: NY, SC Premise termiticide products, by Bayer, are among our top picks for long-lasting, effective termite control. Premise 2 is generally used for treating localized areas of known subterranean termite activity, but it is also effective in controlling drywood and dampwood termites, borers and other wood-infesting insects in and around basements, attics, crawl spaces, voids, and damaged wood piles. Premise 2 is an excellent product for trenching and soil drenching, foaming, or for treating wood. Premise 2 works differently from other termiticide products that are designed to simply repel or keep termites away from the treated soil area without killing them. Premise is a non-repellent termiticide, meaning that termites do not detect that Premise is present. Premise creates an undetectable 밫reated Zone츛 around the home, where termites unknowingly eat treated cellulose or tunnel into treated soil. In the meantime, the exposed termites are able to spread the Premise chemical to unexposed termites by physical contact when they feed or groom the other termites, resulting in a domino death effect which wipes out more of the colony. Imidacloprid, the active ingredient in Premise, is the most widely used insecticide in the world with a proven track record of success ?less than one percent retreat rate. The active ingredient in Premise is commonly used in consumer products for both people and pets. Premise has no odor, and remains in the soil for years after initial application.

Tips for Use ?Before beginning a treatment, determine the location of underground utility lines, the main water line shut-off valve, and if there is radiant heat or sub-slab air ducts. ?In heavy clay soils, rod holes should be spaced 3-4 inches apart. In lighter and sandy soils, rod holes can be spaced 6-8 inches apart. ?Where the soil is heavy, PREMISE?75 can be applied by reducing hole spacing, or by increasing the concentrations of Premise 75 two-fold in half the volume. ?Houses that have large settlement voids or sand fill should be treated by long rodding underneath the slab. ?Technicians should determine if air ducts in slabs are a perimeter system or a radial system before drilling and treating. Perimeter systems that run along the foundation can complicate treatment. ?Ducts made of cardboard, or that have rusted out, should be sealed, and a recommendation should be made to the homeowner to install an alternate system. ?Foaming void areas is an effective way to obtain complete coverage. ?Do not treat soil beneath structures that contain cisterns or wells. Consult state and local specifications for recommended distances of wells from the treated area. ?A borascope is a useful tool for determining what is located beneath a slab or behind a foundation wall.

Timbor Q & A

What is Timbor?

Tim-bor is wood preservative that works as an insecticide and fungicide.

What is the active ingredient in Timbor?

The active ingredient in is disodium octaborate tetrahydrate a natural borate compound.

What is a borate compound?

Borate compounds are derived from mineral deposits that contain the element Boron. These compounds are use in the production of many products including ceramics, glass and medicines and also work extremely well as insecticides and fungicides.

Why is Timbor considered a insecticide and fungicide?

Insects are exposed to the active ingredient by eating treated wood or by ingestion while grooming. Borates are a contact toxicant to fungi. The borates prevent metablolism of food by insects and fungi causing death.

How is Timbor applied?

Timbor is applied the surface of bare wood as a liquid. It can also be applied as a dust into void attic and wall void areas for labeled insect control.

How does Timbor work as a wood preservative?

When Timbor is applied as a liquid to the surface of bare wood it diffuses into the wood to make the wood itself toxic to wood destroying organisms such as wood decay fungus or drywood termites.

Is Timbor concentrate a liquid?

Timbor comes in a powder form that is used as a powder or mixed with water to form a liquid solution. To create a 10% solution mixone pound of Timbor to one gallon of water. This solution must be applied twice to a bare wood surface. To create a 15% solutionmix 1.5 pounds of Timbor to one gallon of water. This solution can be applied only once to the wood surface.

Is Timbor labeled to treat wood decay fungus?

Tim-bor is labeled for the control and prevention of wood decay fungi including white rot, brown rot, poria and wet rots.

Is Timbor labeled for the control of carpenter ants?

Timbor is labeled for the control and prevention of carpenter ants by applying Tim-bor dust into active ant galleries and into areas where ants may enter the structure.

What wood destroying organisms is Timbor labeled to control?

Timbor is labeled for the control and prevention of drywood termites, wood destroying beetles, wood decay fungi, carpenter ants and termites.

Can Timbor be foamed?

Timbor can be foamed using equipment designed for foaming applications. Foaming requires a 15% solution in conjunction with a foaming agent. A dry foam is recommended for best results.

Does Timbor effect ornamental plants?

Yes, over spray on plants or spills near the plant roots can kill or retard plant growth.

Premise Foam is a ready-to-use formulation of imidacloprid intended to kill subterranean species of termites and other wood-infesting insects. Premise Foam is ideal for easy application directly from the bottle into voids and spaces between wooden elements where infestations are most common. Once applied, Premise Foam expands to reach hidden or difficult to treat areas, and contacts termites or other insects hidden deep within wall galleries or voids. Because of its active ingredient, imidacloprid, Premise Foam works differently from other termiticides which repel, rather than kill, termites. Termites tunneling or foraging in the spaces treated with Premise Foam will go about their usual activities without being repelled. The exposed termites then remain unaffected for a few days, before sudden death occurs. In the meantime, the exposed termites are able to spread the Premise chemical to unexposed termites by physical contact when they feed or groom the other termites, resulting in a domino death effect which wipes out more of the colony. Imidacloprid, the active ingredient in Premise Foam, is the most widely used insecticide in the world with a proven track record of success ?less than one percent retreat rate. While Premise Foam is an effective method of controlling subterranean termites within voids and spaces between wooden elements above ground and other areas, it is not intended to be used as your sole source of control. For best results, this product should be used as a supplement to soil-applied termiticide (like Premise 2, or Premise 75WP), or a termite bait system registered as a sole control source.
