The FirstLine® GT Plus Termite Bait Station with SmartDisc™ Locator and Monitor. Not your ordinary stick in the mud.

The FirstLine® GT Plus Termite Bait Station contains the active ingredient, sulfluramid, which is a slow-acting stomach toxicant that kills all types of subterranean termites, including reproductives. The 7”-diameter SMARTDISC™ Locator features a moisture-retaining footprint and ridged design to help termites find the station four times faster for more hits and improved efficiency. Plus, the station is the only professional bait station certified “Child Resistant” according to guidelines set forth by the Consumer Products Safety Commission. Which means each cap is permanently sealed for safety and is transparent for easy visual inspections.FMC SYSTEMATIC TERMITE CONTROLSM: Termite Baiting Information from FMC More Control Over Termites. Advance termites Bait Pro Kits

Advance Termite Bait System - Pro Kit Product Details: Active Ingredient: diflubenzuron - 0.25%

Features:

Reasons to use our Termite Detection Kit: The Advanced Termite Bait System is the next generation in termite baiting. The Advance Termite station design features vertical slots that allow for maximum wood-to-soil contact, creating the perfect opportunity for termite attack. Each station contains a Termite Monitoring Base with preferred wood that is appetizing to termites. Above this rests a second cellular source, the Termite Inspection Cartridge containing Puri-Cell matrix in a clear cartridge that makes inspection easy. A Quick-Lock cap eliminates keys and hinges. The Spider access tool allows a technician to open the the stations easily while standing.

The Advance Termite Bait System Pro Kit contains: Inexpensive--Our kit costs only a fraction of what a pest control operator would charge to treat your house with a termite chemical or monitor the termite poison bait stations around your home for a year.

Effective--The kit does what it's made to do; in other words it will detect the presence of termites around your home. When termites are found then termiticides can be applied to kill and or repel the termite colony. In some states you can do your own termite treatment while in others you should hire a professional exterminator. Either way, you do no actual treatment for termites until termites are found. After a conventional termite treatment is done using liquid termiticides, then the termite bait stakes can be used as an aid to prevent further termite attacks.

*10 and 15 Termite Monitoring Stations (depending on the kit you choose) that each contain a wood base and a termite inspection cartridge. These stations are to be placed ten to fifteen feet apart around your home.

*6 Termite Bait Cartridges for use when termite activity is present in the stations.

*1 Spider Access Tool for easy access to the bait stations.

*1 Instruction booklet.

How the Advance Termite Bait System works.

First, a pest management professional will inspect your home for termites and if they are found or your risk is high, the Advance Termite Bait System will be installed around the perimeter of your home. The stations will be checked regularly for termite activity. (Fig. 1) When termites are found in a station, (Fig. 2) the Termite Inspection Cartridge, containing no active ingredient, is replaced with a termite bait cartridge with active ingredient so termites can start feeding on the bait. (Fig. 3) As termites feed and then travel back to the colony, they share termite bait with other nestmates and send other termites back to feed on the bait. As feeding on the bait continues and more termites are affected, the termite colony starts to die and is eliminated. After a colony is eliminated, the bait will be replaced with new termite inspection cartridges. Your pest management professional will continue to inspect these regularly to discover new colonies that might invade your property. (Fig. 4)

Q.

How much damage can termites do to my home?

A. Termite feeding and ensuing damage varies greatly based on colony size, alternate food sources, seasonality and many other factors. Significant damage can occur over a 1-3 year span, depending on the above factors. Therefore, it is critical that you have a professional assess your home's unique needs and prescribe the Advance Termite Bait System to eliminate colonies around your home. Q. Is termite damage generally covered by a homeowner's policy? A. No, in most cases termite damage is excluded from homeowner policies. Check with your pest control professional for an ongoing protection program with Advance. Q. May the Advance Termite Bait System be installed on homes newly constructed to meet lending guidelines? A. Yes, the Advance Termite Bait System is approved for use as pre-construction application in many states, after the home is built and final grade has been completed. Q. Why is the Advance Termite Bait System the ideal choice for the primary protection of your home? A. Advance monitors, detects and eliminates colonies that are currently or may invade your home. An Advance installation is less intrusive than other traditional liquid methods. Advance provides long-term protection of your home and is always on guard for new termites foraging around your home. Advance is low impact to the environment and your pets. Children have no contact with the active ingredient as it is secured below ground in the station housing. Advance utilizes the latest termite research and technology available. It features the ultra low disturbance station design that keeps termites feeding voraciously on the Puri-Cell™ bait matrix, which leads to colony elimination.

Q. I heard termites are only a problem in southeastern states. A. Actually, termites are a problem in homes from New England to Florida, throughout the mid-west and to California. All states except Alaska have some degree of termite pressure. Having your home preventatively treated with the Advance Termite Bait System is a sound decision. Q. Can I have termites in my home and not see a “termite swarm”? A. Yes, termites can be in a home for years without swarming in a visible area. Each year, thousands of homes have termites that are found only by inspection from a professional pest control company. Q. Do I need to leave my home at any time during an Advance Termite Bait System treatment? A. No, there is no reason that an installation of Advance would require you to leave your home. However, if a pest management professional chooses to “spot treat” a specific area of your home depending on the product used for that treatment, they may require you to leave your home temporarily. Q. How often will my bait stations be checked with the Advance Termite Bait System? A. Stations will be checked on a regular basis based on the needs of your home and the feeding activity of termites in your area.

Protect Your Home with the FirstLine?Termite Defense SystemSM from FMC.

The most comprehensive system designed for complete control of termites.

Termites work the day shift, the night shift, weekends and holidays.

Termites work silently and invisibly, sawing into your floor joists, cutting into your wall studs, hollowing out the heart of your home and hiding the damage until it뭩 too late.

One of the greatest hazards any homeowner faces is termites, which may do more damage than fires, storms, and earthquakes combined. Termites survive by eating wood, paper, fiberboard, cotton fabrics, and other cellulose products. If ignored, termites can actually threaten the structural integrity of your house, and this is where the danger lies.

Houses and other buildings provide termites with the ideal combination of warmth, moisture and food. Termites can find ways to enter your house that you뭭e never thought of. They are small enough to gain entry into hidden areas of basements, crawl spaces, and concrete slabs, through openings as small as 1/32nd of an inch.

A. Termites can build mud tubes across many feet of concrete, brick, cinder block, treated wood, or metal termite shields into even the upper floors of a structure.

B. Termites eat wood from the inside out, often defying detection for years while doing extensive damage to the wood ?and threatening the integrity of your home.

Although small in size they are large in numbers. Termites congregate in enormous underground colonies that house hundreds of thousands to millions of individual termites. They are dispersed throughout the soil at feeding sites around your home and can forage hundreds of feet from their colony.

Termite survival depends on finding edible material to support the colony. Moving out from their colony, they tunnel through the soil in search of moisture and food. They forage around mulch beds, near air conditioner drip lines and below gutters. They also like tree stumps, decks, buried wood, construction material, and piles of firewood. A loose mortar joint, a small space around a drain pipe, or a settlement crack in the basement is all they need to gain entry to your home.

Your pest management professional knows how to uncover termite activity.

There are several clear indications of termite infestation. In the spring in most parts of the country and in the fall in others, reproductive swarmers emerge in great numbers. Sometimes, you may see them swarm, or you may only see signs that they have swarmed. Their wings break off after flight and you may find piles of wings that have dropped off. Often, you will miss the swarm, so be sure to look for other signs of damage to wood or visible mud tubes.

If you become aware of any of the signs of termite infestation, or your neighbors have termites, call your local pest management professional who is trained to use the FirstLine?Termite Defense SystemSM from FMC. He or she will inspect inside your home and around your home looking for areas that are vulnerable to termite infestation. Your pest management professional will examine areas where termites forage for moisture and food, giving special attention to conditions which are conducive to termite attack such as cracks, voids, and spaces where wiring and utilities pass through walls and slabs.

Typical sites of termite activity A. Tree stump B. Air conditioner drip line C. Chimney slightly pulled away from house D. Wood-to-ground contact E. Wood piles F. Stucco/rigid foam insulation below soil G. Mulch bed H. Damp soil under slab I. Poor drainage J. Railroad ties

Pest management professionals are well trained in termite behavior. They know where to look for termites and can determine how they got there. They also know about available treatment options, and how to use them to protect your home for years to come.

The FirstLine Termite Defense System provides complete control of termites.

The FirstLine?Termite Defense SystemSM effectively controls subterranean termites, the most destructive termites found throughout the United States. It뭩 the most comprehensive and effective program designed for complete control of termites. It뭩 the only system in the industry that includes termite baits, liquid termiticides and software for complete control. Your pest management professional has been specially trained by FMC to use the complete FirstLine?Termite Defense System.

There are three major components in the FirstLine?Termite Defense System.

FirstLine?GT Plus termite bait station with SMARTDISC?locator and monitoring station TalstarOne multi-insecticide SMARTRAK?Series of Software Solutions The process begins with a thorough inspection.

First your pest management professional will complete a thorough inspection of your home and the property around your home to evaluate termite activity, identify sources conducive to termites and make recommendations to reduce moisture and food sources. He/she will then discuss the treatment plan with you before proceeding.

Then live termite infestations in or on the structure will be treated.

Your pest management professional wants to stop any live termite infestation from further destruction of your property before the introduction of a monitoring/baiting component. For optimum protection of your home, your pest management professional will make a localized treatment of TalstarOneTM multi-insecticide.

TalstarOneTM multi-insecticide has the longest average residual in the industry, creating a powerful barrier of long lasting protection. United States Department of Agriculture research shows that TalstarOneTM multi-insecticide provides 100% control for over 11.25 years and in some states, such as Florida and Arizona, it provides 100% control for 14 years. In certain cases your pest management professional may choose FirstLine?termite bait stations (above-ground) to control termites where active mud tubes are found.

Next, monitoring stations and bait stations will be used to detect and control termites around the structure.

SMARTDISC?locators and monitoring stations and FirstLine?GT Plus termite bait stations will be used around your home based on the general use directions established by FMC and EPA Registered product labels. The SMARTDISC?locator is used with the monitoring station and the FirstLine?GT Plus termite bait station to help channel termites into the stations.

Typically, SMARTDISC?locators and monitoring stations are placed around your home, about every 10 feet. They are inspected on a regular schedule for the presence of termites. Once termites are found in a monitoring station, it is replaced with a FirstLine?GT Plus termite bait station. Each station contains the active ingredient sulfluramid, which can kill at least 80,000 termites. Unlike other termite baiting systems, sulfluramid can kill all types of subterranean termites, including reproductives. The active ingredient disrupts the production of energy, causing termites to die. In some cases where termites are found in the soil, a FirstLine?GT Plus termite bait station (in-ground) may be used right away.

Your pest management professional will visit your house periodically to monitor the bait stations to verify termite activity, install additional stations when needed, and search for new infestation. Once the termites have stopped feeding, your pest management professional will continue to monitor for new termite activity and inspect your home on an annual basis.

Has low impact on human health, low toxicity to birds, fish and plants, and low potential for groundwater contamination when used according to label instructions.

Requires no drilling in floors nor trenching around the home.

Is a high-quality product from Dow AgroSciences, a recognized leader in termite solutions.

How does the Hex-Pro System work?

It starts with a professional inspection of the home for signs of termites or do your own inspection with these tips.

Hex-Pro termite stations are placed in the soil in prime termite-foraging areas around the house. For Do It Yourself Placement guidelines read: Installation and Placements. (In areas of known termite activity, auxiliary Hex-Pro termite stations may also be installed and baited immediately.)

Hex-Pro termite stations need to be checked every two months regularly for signs of termite activity.

When termites are found in the Hex-Pro termite stations, they should be transferred to a bait cartridge placed in the stations. The bait cartridge contains Shatter™ termite bait. In cases where baited auxiliary Hex-Pro™ termite stations are installed immediately, transferring termites is unnecessary.

Termites feed on Shatter termite bait, tunnel back to their colony, and send their nestmates back to feed on the bait. Generally, after several weeks, the termite colony declines and eventually is destroyed.

After the termites have been controlled, used bait cartridges are replaced with wood monitors. Continue to check for signs of new termite activity every two months.

What is the active ingredient in Shatter?termite bait that controls termites? The active ingredient is hexaflumuron, an insect growth regulator that stops the termites?vital molting process so they are unable to grow. As a result, they die. Hexaflumuron has demonstrated 10 years of in-field success killing, controlling and eliminating termites.

Why not just put Shatter termite bait in all the Hex-Pro termite stations right away? Shatter termite bait can be placed in auxiliary Hex-Pro termite stations right away in areas where termite activity is suspected. Elsewhere, establishing feeding in the Hex-Pro termite station first is important because termite foraging can be unpredictable. Baiting all Hex-Pro termite stations offers no advantage in termite control.

How long does it take to control the termites? Once the Hex-Pro System is installed, it can take from a few weeks to a few months for termites to enter the Hex-Pro termite stations, depending on time of year, geography, termite pressure and termite species. Once the termites enter the bait cartridges and begin feeding on Shatter termite bait, the process of termite control can begin. Colonies may begin to decline as quickly as four weeks after feeding on Shatter termite bait. It is important to remember that the termites?natural behavior, upon which the Hex-Pro System depends, does vary with the factors mentioned above, so the time and effort needed to achieve control can vary as well.

Is the Hex-Pro?Termite Baiting System effective against all types of termites? Shatter?termite bait used in the Hex-Pro System is effective against all economically important subterranean (not drywood) termite species in the continental United States and Hawaii. It does the job in varying soil, climate and geographic conditions.

What if a house is already infested with subterranean termites? The Hex-Pro System will be installed to control the current termite infestation and the long-term threat. If the infestation is serious, use of an additional termite treatment for immediate, localized control may be necessary. Please call us at 770-232-8799 for recommendations.

Why don't the termites just go between the Hex-Pro termite stations to reach the house? Termites continuously search for new feeding sites, even though they may have already located an abundant food source. Termites also feed randomly among available food sites within their foraging area. Therefore, if termites are foraging on a property, they should find and attack the wood monitors in one or more of the Hex-Pro termite stations.

What if the termite colony is right beneath the house? Even when termites have found a food source in a house, they are constantly looking for more food elsewhere and their range typically extends beyond the house. Hex-Pro termite stations are an easy target for foraging termites, because they are in the soil where subterranean termites live and forage.

When the termites are controlled, will the Hex-Pro termite stations be removed? Once the current termite threat has been controlled by Shatter termite bait, another termite colony could invade the property. To keep the property protected, the Hex-Pro termite stations should be left in the ground for continued monitoring.
